In the wake of their 4-1 series win over the Dallas Mavericks in the 2024 NBA Finals, the Boston Celtics have been jubilantly marking their record-setting 18th championship. Upon returning to Boston from their celebratory journey to Miami, Boston’s past crowd-pleaser Brian Scalabrine inquired Jayson Tatum about the joyous getaway.

Scalabrine probed, “Considering the challenging Miami trips in the past, does this celebration feel especially sweet?”

Tatum responded with confidence, quipping, “They’ve always been a walk in the park.”

Tatum implied a track record of triumph over the Miami Heat, though supporters might analyze his statement more closely.

A retrospective glance at the past five playoffs shows the Heat and Celtics have clashed four times, with each team emerging twice as victors; the Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals in 2020 and 2023, and the Celtics in 2022 and the season’s opening round.

Considering their entire playoff history, the Celtics and Heat are knotted at 21 wins each.

Now boasting the most titles in NBA history, the Celtics seem to be taking their rivalry with their southern Floridian adversaries quite personally.

Choosing Miami as their victory celebration locale post-championship win surprised many, sparking speculation of showing off to Heat aficionados.

Throughout the Finals, Tatum’s averages were solid, with 22.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 1.0 steals per game, despite field goal and three-point percentages of 38.8% and 26.3%, respectively.

After securing his first championship, Tatum has been the subject of jokes for his seemingly over-the-top celebration tactics.
